Intermediate Math I (Daily) Intermediate Math I is a foundational course exploring the fundamentals of four main areas: (1) developing understanding of and applying proportional relationships; (2) developing understanding of operations with rational numbers and working with expressions and linear equations; (3) solving problems involving scale drawings and informal geometric constructions, and working with two- and three- dimensional shapes to solve problems involving area, surface area, and volume; and (4) drawing inferences about populations based on samples.
Because this class is taught Daily, the instructor has the ability to slow the curriculum down to a pace that is easier to digest for the students. This class will be utilizing the computer lab about once per week where we will be able to work with a program called ALEKS where students can solidify mathematical understanding by working through problems and games on the computer.
I have attached a basic calendar for my Intermediate I class, but please realize that because this class is tailored for the students, we may be going at a slightly different pace. However, this should give you a basic outline of where we are in the book and what we will be doing.
